Shoot Report – Peter Saich
The April shoot fell on Easter Sunday so we were expecting a reduced turnout, but it was the highest attendance so far this year with 60 people shooting – Thank you all for your support.
Andy, Matt and the team were all set to start until they noticed how many people were booked in. They realised that there would not be enough clays for the double Battue stand so quickly set up another trap to turn it into a sequence which turned out to be good fun.
There were some other interesting combinations including a very fast driven and of course a pair of Easter Bunnies which looked deceptively easy and ruined a few scorecards.
Top score of the morning and winning A Class was Glen Boxall with 54, but he was only just ahead of Jason Stredwick and one of our newer members – Trevor McCabe who both hit 53. Chris Clark also had a very consistent round and shot 52. Well done to all of you.
There was a clear winner in B Class. John Martin scored 47 to move up to A Class next month. Alan Davis joined us for the first time this year and tied for second place on 44 with Gavin Smith.
In C Class, Nigel Hebburn claimed the Trophy with 40. Jon Watson was second (again) with 38 and Stuart Hulme was third on 36.
Skeet Evenings
We have booked a Skeet range at NCSC Bisley for our exclusive use on Wednesday evenings between 5 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. You are welcome to come and join in and even if you have never shot skeet before, we will talk you through it and provide guidance. Cost is £10.50 per round of 25 targets. We usually have time for two rounds each.
If there is sufficient support, we may consider having a monthly competition.
