Shoot report – Peter Saich

Another interesting and varied layout set by Andy yesterday including some stands which looked easy but were actually quite tricky. There were also some ‘disappearing’ driven but of course, Matt didn’t even notice the tree was there as he shot them so quickly!

There were only 32 members shooting yesterday so with seven stands and no major breakdowns there was minimal queuing. Many thanks to all those who helped set up and put away the shoot, greatly appreciated by Andy as it was his birthday! If we had known we might have let him win.

There were some close results in the classes again and somewhat surprisingly, top score in each of AA, A and B class was 50 so the targets clearly suited some people.
Nigel Foreman won AA with 50 while Jason Stredwick was second on 48.
Also scoring 50 and winning A Class was Rick Warrington, with Peter Saich and James Horrod close behind on 49. And with 50 in B Class Ian Hargreaves was clear of Gary Evans and Aaron Wiggins who tied for second with 43 each.
In C Class, James Oakford won with a score of 42 with Steve Keane in second on 40.

Don’t forget, there will be no shoot at Clandon in October – Instead we will be holding a Charity shoot at Woodlands Pursuits ground near Reigate on SATURDAY 19 th October. This will be a 100 target shoot costing £40. Guests are welcome so please let them know about the change of venue and date. The Club will subsidise food for our members with bacon rolls and coffee on arrival and two course lunch at the ground to follow the shooting.

There will be trophies for each category based on your current handicaps.
Guests are welcome at a cost of £60 each to include shooting and food. We will also have a raffle to raise money for charity and there will be some form of forfeit on the rabbit stand – usually £1 in the bucket if you miss the very close ‘rat’ target, although we may allow Gary Evans to pay in instalments as his bill is usually quite high.
Please look out for further details this week and let us know as soon as possible if you are going to attend.
